First up is Emily Hankin, resident Sales Negotiator at Bradshaw Farnham & Lea's Heswall branch, a hive of activity that comes with being in the heart of one of the most desirable places to live in the Wirral...
Hi Emily,
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am 19 and currently saving for my own house with my boyfriend. During my A-Levels, I was planning on going to University and studying Law. Although, shortly after my A-Levels I decided that this wasn’t going to be the preferred route for me. I got a marketing job in Liverpool but unfortunately a week into the job I had a car accident which meant working in Liverpool would no longer be feasible for me. I needed a job closer to home which was when I decided to come to Bradshaw Farnham and Lea for a fresh start.
How long have you been working with the company?
I have been working with Bradshaw Farnham and Lea for 1 year this month (it has gone very quick!)
What does your day-to-day role involve?
My days in work start off the same every day; we have a morning meeting with the full team. This allows us to talk about the previous day’s activity and any offers that we have received. After this, I begin by working through my emails and checking my diary for any viewing appointments I have scheduled for that day.
My main role in the office is a Sales Negotiator - this is a process that includes a lot more than people think. First off, we register a client, finding out exactly what it is they’re looking for. Once I know this, I can show them some properties and take them to view. When an offer comes in from a client I have to find out their position, often by calling other Estate Agents and also finding out how they are planning to fund their purchase.
The nature of my role means I work closely with Mortgage Advisers, other Estate Agents and even Solicitors on a day-to-day basis.
What is the best part of your job?
The thing I love the most about my job is the challenge to hit your targets every month. I also love giving people the good news that their offer has been accepted!
What area of the Wirral has the most interesting properties to visit?
The areas we cover here in the Heswall office definitely vary. Areas like Lower Heswall, for example, are definitely classed as a ‘sought-after area’. It is very interesting to compare the prices between the different ranges of areas we cover.
What is the best part of working for Bradshaw Farnham & Lea?
Without a doubt it is my colleagues. They definitely make coming to work every day a lot easier!
